| If you listen for rhythm, you
can find it just about everywhere: raindrops failing, your heart
beating, your breath, clapping hands... Rhythm is what makes music move and flow. It is made up of sounds and silences. These sounds and silences are put together to form a pattern of sounds which are repeated to create a rhythm. DURATION is the quality of the sound with which we can create rhythm. A rhythm has a steady beat (pulse), but it may also have different kinds of beats. Some beats can be stronger, longer, shorter or shofter than others. In a piece of music, a composer can use many rhythms and a DJ uses many different rhythms.
