A note's best known features are pitch and duration:
Pitch: a note position on the stave (line or space) tells you what it will sound like. Duration: a note's shape tells you how long it will be played (note lenght) When notes are written out in a score, each note is assigned a specific position (a line or a space) on the stave, as determined by the clef. Each line or space is assigned a note name. These names are memorized by musicians and allow us to know the proper pitch to play on our instruments for each note-head marked on the stave. In English, notes are represented by the first seven letters of the alfabet: A - B - C - D - E - F - G LA - SI - DO - RE - MI - FA - SOL Let's go to review where the notes go in the treble clef and bass clef:
