In music texture is the way the melodic, rhythmic and harmonic materials are combined in a musical piece. With the combination of different TIMBRES we can create different textures in the music.
MONOPHONIC TEXTURE
Monophonic music is the simplest, there is no harmony, just only one line of tune. ![]() ![]() POLYFHONIC TEXTURE Polyphonic music gives quite complex effect because there is more than one tune being played at once.
There are two or more indenpendent melodic voices. ![]() ![]() HOMOPHONIC TEXTURE In Homophonic music the voices move together using the same rhythm. The relationship between voices create chords. ![]() A special type of homophonic texture is the: MELODY WITH ACCOMPANIMENT The melody with accompaniment is the most commonly music texture found in modenr music. It consists in one melody and its accompany (rhythm or/and chords). ![]() ![]() HETEROPHONIC TEXTURE In heterophonic music there is one melody and the instruments share the tune. All the instruments play it, but with variations. ![]() |
