A letter of complaint

Sometimes when we are on holiday we are not satisfied with a service or product we receive. If that is the case, we may want to write a letter or email to complain.

Tips

  1. Focus on the important information and facts. Don’t give unnecessary background information.
  2. You must include the following:
    • the reason for writing the letter of complaint
    • what happened
    • what you would like them to do for you
  3. A complaint letter needs to be written in formal style
  4. Try to use different verb tenses, for example the passive voice
  5. To end your complaint letter, use: Yours faithfully,
