We can classify the materials into 3 groups:

        • Artificial Materials
        • Synthetic materials

Natural material: Raw material extracted from natural resources

Artificial Materials: Natural materials to which we have applied an industrial process.

Synthetic materials: Materials that do not exist in nature, have been created by a process of chemical synthesis.

EXAMPLES:

RAW MATERIAL:  Wood

ARTIFICIAL MATERIAL:  Iron rods

SYNTHETIC MATERIAL PLASTIC: PVC pipes
