Safety in Digital Environments
Parents and students need to know some key concepts to stay safe in digital environments. Here I share some that I consider most important:
Phishing
Your anti-phishing protection ensures that your digital identity is protected. Think before you click.
Manipulated or fake messages can reach you through popup windows, while visiting a website, or by sms. In order to identify them, you must be vigilant. Do not reply to messages that ask you to click on a link if you do not trust the sender, or that are not addressed to me alone.
Banks or credible entity never sends sms's asking for personal data.
Alarmist messages or messages that ask to answer urgently are always to be mistrusted.
Never install software or download files from text messages.
PlagiarismIf you are going to use third-party information in a paper or publication, remember that you can use the CitationGenerator tool (available at https://www.citationgenerator.com/)
