Talking about routines - Tapescript
Unit 3 Page 40, Exercises 4 and 5
Laura: Hi, Sam. Listen! I know we always play tennis on Tuesday and Thursday but I can’t play today.
Sam: Why?
Laura: Because I’ve got a new pet!
Sam: Really? What pet? A hamster? A dog?
Laura: No, I’ve got a rabbit. Its name is Glenda and she lives in my room.
Sam: OK … but why can’t you play tennis?
Laura:
Well, rabbits are messy, so now I clean my room at four o’clock
every afternoon. See,
my mother comes home at five every day,
and she doesn’t like pets or messy rooms.
Sam: Oh. Does your mother hate Glenda?
Laura:
No, she doesn’t. My room is really clean now, so my mother’s
very happy. But I’m not!
I really want to continue playing
tennis but I can’t.
Sam: Don’t worry, Linda. I don’t want to play tennis today. I’m very tired.
Laura: Really? Why are you so tired? When do you go to bed?
Sam: I usually go to bed at ten o’clock after I walk my dog.
Laura: Ten o’clock is early. I always go to bed at twelve o’clock.
Sam: Yes, but I get up early. I get up at quarter past six because I do sport.
Laura: Really? Quarter past six? How often do you get up at quarter past six?
Sam: Every day! I’ve got football practice at seven o’clock every morning.
Laura: Wow! I always have a shower at seven o’clock. Then I do my homework. I start my homework at quarter past seven and I finish just in time for school.
Sam: I don’t understand. Why do you do your homework at quarter past seven in the morning?
Laura: Because I have got music lessons on Monday and on Wednesday and I play tennis with you on Tuesday and Thursday! I haven’t got time for homework!
