2. Domain-specific confidence based on specialized skills

If you don’t know how to play the violin or land a plane, you won’t be able to suddenly come up with something on the fly. But the confidence which comes from mastering a domain-specific skill may not transfer or carry over to another activity (although we might expect, say, a good pilot to also be a pretty good driver just from domain-proximity effects).

Perhaps the example of the two drivers could also illustrate a female preference for the more global, Swiss Army Knife types of traits which lead to confidence over the possession of domain-specific technical skills…?
