MINI PRESENTATION: EXPLAIN THE INJURY
Step 1: Form groups and choose a topic
Work in groups of 3–4 students. Choose one injury/condition from the list:
SKELETAL SYSTEM:
- Fractured femur
- Broken rib
- Dislocated shoulder
RESPIRATORY SYSTEM:
- Asthma attack
- Collapsed lung (pneumothorax)
- Airway obstruction
CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM:
- Heart attack
- Stroke
- Severe bleeding (hemorrhage)
NERVOUS SYSTEM:
- Head injury (concussion)
- Spinal cord injury
- Seizure (epilepsy)
MUSCULAR SYSTEM:
- Muscle strain
- Sprain (ligament injury)
- Deep cut (laceration)
Step 2: Research and prepare your explanation
Find clear and simple information about:

Description of body system (Short definition and main functions)

Injury/Condition – Describe the injury or condition briefly, explaining possible causes and rick factors.

Signs and symptoms – What does the patient feel? How can you detect it?

EMS response – What is the appropriate medical response for it? Which equipment would you use? Provide a step-by-step response.
Step 3: Create your presentation
Prepare a PowerPoint / Google Slides presentation / Canva with the most relevant information about the disease.
Your presentation must include:

✅ Title slide (Injury name + group members)

✅ Index (sections of your presentation)

✅ Clear information slides
-
✅ Images or diagrams (if possible)
🚨Important:

Do NOT copy and paste large paragraphs.

Use short sentences or bullet points.

Use medical vocabulary from this unit.
Step 4: Write 2-3 comprehension questions
At the end of your presentation, create 3 questions about your injury.
Example:

What are the symptoms of a heart attack?

What equipment is used for a fracture?
Your classmates must answer the questions.
Step 5: Presentation day

Each group will present for 3–5 minutes.

Speak clearly and share the speaking time.
