RANURA.

Se usa para definir el sitio físico de un equipo donde se coloca una tarjeta, por ejemplo una RAM. Se puede usar EXPANSION SLOT como RANURA DE EXPANSIÓN cuando hablamos de ranuras extra para aumentar las capacidades de un equipo: 

"Does this tablet have an expansion slot for portable memory?"

También se usa DISK SLOT cuando nos referimos a una ranura para insertar un disco tipo CD, DVD...

Electricity: A device intended to hold an electric light bulb mechanically and connect it electrically to circuit wires. Also called wall socket, a socket placed in a wall to receive a plug that makes an electrical connection with supply wiring.

ENCHUFE.

Se utiliza para nombrar las tomas de corriente (tipo suko por ejemplo, que pueden estar instaladas en una pared, mueble, etc.) donde enchufamos equipos eléctricos:

"Simon plugged his laptop into the socket"

También llamamos así a la conexión de ciertos puertos, por ejemplo el sitio donde enchufamos un cable LPT1, COM, etc. en una CPU o el lugar donde conectamos el mando de una videoconsola.
