IMPRESSIONISM

Impressionist music is the music trend that emerged in France in the late nineteenth century.
The name Impressionism was already used before to describe the painting of the years 1860 - 1870, since the characteristics of both arts were very similar. The two composers whom we
call Impressionists at that time are Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel.
Impressionism, both in music and in other arts, comes from the idea of only suggesting ideas, in a manner somewhat implied; there are only impressions.

Some characteristics of the impressionist music are:

 -
Free rhythm
 - Innovation in harmony
 - Experimentation with the timbre looking for different sensations.
