IMPRESSIONISM |
| Impressionist music is the music trend that emerged in France in the late nineteenth century. The name Impressionism was already used before to describe the painting of the years 1860 - 1870, since the characteristics of both arts were very similar. The two composers whom we call Impressionists at that time are Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel. ![]() Impressionism, both in music and in other arts, comes from the idea of only suggesting ideas, in a manner somewhat implied; there are only impressions.
