In summary, the steelmaking process is divided into several stages in the blast furnace:

1. The iron ore is washed to remove impurities
2. Iron ore is crushed and sieved, the gangue is separated from the ore
3. The iron ore is mixed with carbon and limestone
4. This is smelted at more than 1500 ºC in a blast furnace
5. Finally, the pig iron is obtained, it is a molten mixed with carbon and impurities
6. The pig iron is then processed to reduce the percentage of carbon content and to remove impurities
