What Guys Do When Their Girlfriends Are Away

Reasons Why Your Ex Continues To Use You

Maybe open up sharing the finances by sharing the dates.  Say ‘I think it would be fairer and more fun if we took turns planning our dates.  You can plan one date and I can plan the next.” and if that doesn’t get the idea across finish with “and don’t feel bad if it is inexpensive.  I wouldn’t want things to become a spending contest.”

YAY for southern girls! (though I’m originally a Yankee) Well, Yay for old-fashioned girls! My Dad still takes my Mom on dates and they have been married 37 1/2 years smile He drops her off at the door when it’s raining out, he shovels a path to her car on snowy days, he still adores her. I, for one, don’t think chivalry is dead nowadays, either.

Your last post now has me questioning my gender role. I always drop people off at the door when it rains, nothing worse then going to a movie and being sopping wet in the air conditioning. And when I’m shoveling my car or the pathway, I’ll shovel my neighbors cause I get up much earlier and they’re older… I never classified that as chivalrous, I always assumed it was good manners.

I always at least reach for the check on the first date- unless of course the date is not going well.  By date #5, you should at LEAST offer to go dutch.

Going over to some guys house is definitely not a date.  And initiating contact EVERY time is a bad sign.  I used to beat myself up and play the “WHY DIDN’T HE CALL?!” game until I realized how silly it was.  Maybe he didn’t call because he got back together with his ex.  Or maybe he’s secretly gay.  You’ll never know, so stop beating yourself up about it
