Monologue

Script

My hometown is Buenos Aires. It’s the capital city of Argentina. It’s a very large city on the river Rio de la Plata, in the east of Argentina. The population is very large: almost three million people, but there are about fourteen million people when you include Greater Buenos Aires, the suburbs. There are a lot of parks, but I especially like Palermo woods. It’s a big park with lakes, a lot of trees, and a rose garden. The zoo and botanical gardens are next to the park. There are also a lot of museums, cultural centres, historic buildings, churches, mosques, and synagogues.

Buenos Aires is very big, but I prefer to live in a medium-size city like Vigo. Vigo has a lot of things too and I like it because it has everything I need to have a great lifestyle. My husband and I live in a beautiful flat with a view of the ria (or estuary). Our neighbourhood is near the city centre, so I can go to work and to the central areas on foot. This is important to me because walking is very healthy. Our flat is on the fifth floor. The building is very old, but our flat is new: it’s only three years old.  There’s a combined living and dining room, a kitchen, a guest bathroom, a family bathroom, a study (for my husband and his desk computer), an art studio (for me, my laptop, and my painting things), a bedroom, a utility room (for laundry), and a walk-in closet. Our flat has a garage space downstairs in the basement, but we don’t have a car, so we rent it.
