At Vigo language school there are nine languages, so there are a lot of language teachers and there are also administrative assistants, caretakers, and cleaners. So I have a lot of different workmates. But as I’m an English teacher, I’m close to my colleagues at the English Department. I admire them a lot because they are very good teachers, but I especially admire Annie. She’s a wonderful English teacher. She speaks English like a native speaker. She’s about forty. She’s tall and thin with dark hair and dark eyes. She’s from a small village near Santiago de Compostela. She’s married and she has a son. Her son is very young. I think he goes to kindergarten.

Annie likes English literature a lot and she organizes an English literature book club at the language school. This is for the advanced students of the school because they read works of canonical English authors, like Shakespeare and Dickens. Annie loves English literature in all its aspects: with Shakespeare they read plays and poetry, and with Dickens they read novels. But, of course, she includes contemporary authors, too. I think her book club is a lot of fun.
