Monologue

Script

At weekends, my husband and I try to make the most of our time because on weekdays we work long hours. On Saturday morning, we usually do the shopping for the week at the supermarket, and after that, we always go to my parents’ house to have lunch with them. In the afternoon, unfortunately, I often have to correct homework or prepare classes. But my husband can do fun activities: he surfs the web, downloads material from the Internet, reads online newspapers, talks to his father on Skype, listens to music, watches television, sees a film or reads a book. In the evening, if we don’t go out or friends don’t come to have dinner with us, we often see a film together. Afterwards, I go on watching videos on YouTube or on television, because my husband likes going to bed early and getting up very early too! On Sunday morning, we usually go to the sports centre Máis que Auga to keep fit. We go to the gym; then, we go swimming; and finally, we go to the spa to relax. It’s a nice place and we enjoy going there. At lunchtime, my parents always come home to have lunch with us, and now, it’s our turn to prepare the meal! In the afternoon and the evening, if I have free time, I usually paint or do something connected with the arts. I love painting. It’s my favourite free-time activity and I always dream of spending more time on it. During the holidays, I paint every day.
