GOING ON A DIGITAL DETOX

      • Broaden your phone language:

      • Interview your partner about the following:

  • Impulsive reactions: An incident in a concert. Grammar in context. Ex 2 p.60. Mediation of highlighted elements - Rewrite in your own words what's meant. Comment on the incident that happened  in the middle of a concert by viola player LukasKmit.
  • Speaking mediation: Good manners and mobiles. When there's a will, there's a way.
  • Speaking production:
    • Opinion on the use of mobiles these days.
    • Describe a bad moment your phone went off.
  • Level up: Grammar: Modals - Retelling modals using other structures. Try to upgrade your level while paraphrasing the given sentence. Do not panic, there's lots of possibilities for each statement. Example:
    •  Do you think we should text Dad to tell him we'll be late?  will turn into:
    1. I suggest texting Dad to tell him we'll be late? What do you think?
    2. I think I'll be a good idea to text Dad to tell him we'll be late? Do you agree?
    3. I'd rather text Dad to tell him we'll be late, or else we might get into trouble. Don't you think?

    • Do the same with the following ones:
  • Interaction exam practice: Annoying things people do with their mobiles. Choose the best picture below to illustrate an article about annoying smartphone habits you and your mate will publish in your blog next month. Remember to:

  • Linking - Gaining fluency while practising connected speech at the same time we practice useful and common phrasal verbs related to technology. Time to cope with some pronunciation exercise to excel in both your speaking and listening skills.

ADVISABLE HOMEWORK: Try to perform your interaction task above in 5 minutes by agreeing to call your classmates using whatsapp or any other similar app and if possible record yourselves while doing so. After that, watch the video/audio to check if you managed to convey your ideas and use the level stuff you had planned. Once you do this, you're more than welcome to send it to me, so that I can give you feedback. Or else, you'll do it again in class next 8th February.

EXTRA - PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT - LINKING - How accurate are you?

COMING SOON:
