OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

To write information about your daily routines to explain it to the person you will be hosting in your house.

GUIDELINES TO CREATE YOU TASK

Materials:

Paper and pencil for drafting.

Cardboards and markers for the final presentation.

Access to English dictionaries or online resources for vocabulary reference.

STEPS FOR WRITING

1 -Planning: Use the planning form- graphic organizer

  •     Make a list of the activities you perform on a typical day from when you wake up until you go to bed ( wake up, have breakfast...)
  •     Note the time you usually do each activity (e.g., 7:00 am - wake up).

2-Drafting: Use your notebook

  •     Write complete sentences for each activity using the appropriate vocabulary: "I wake up at 7:00 am. Then, I brush my teeth and have breakfast...."
  •     Use time connectors like "first", "then", "after that", "finally" to order the activities.
  •     Use adverbs to show frequency ( I always wake up at 7: 00 am. Then I brush my teeth and have breakfast...."

 3-Revision: Use the self-assessment checklist.

  •     Review your draft with a partner or ask your teacher for help to correct vocabulary and grammar errors.
  •     Ensure that the sentences flow logically and the information is clear.
  •     Make sure you use periods, commas, capital letters and all the conventions we learned.

GRADING YOUR WRITING 

    Presentation (Title and student details) – 10%               

  • Title: My Daily Routine
  • Name, grade, date, subject
  • Clean layout, correct margins, and spacing
  • Clear handwriting or typed using Arial 12 (or similar)

   Structure of the text – 10%                                              

  • Clear organization in 3 short paragraphs:
  • Paragraph 1: Morning routine
  • Paragraph 2: Afternoon/evening
  • Paragraph 3: Closing sentence about how the day ends or personal feeling

   Language accuracy 20%                                               

  • Proper use of grammar (present simple, connectors)
  • Correct spelling and punctuation
  • Coherence and cohesion through connectors

 Content and vocabulary 60%                                            

  • Use of at least 8 routine-related verbs
  • Logical sequence of daily activities
  • Appropriate use of time expressions
  • Creativity and variety (not repeating the same verb)
  • Use of at least 3 connectors (then, after that, finally)

GUIDELINES TO CREATE YOUR VIDEO

INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR ORAL PRESENTATION BEFORE RECORDING:

  • Practice reading your routine aloud using the draft you wrote.
  • Work on your pronunciation and intonation, trying to speak clearly and confidently.
  • Use of Visual Aids: Create a poster that shows your daily routine with images or drawings that illustrate each activity.
  • Write brief labels in English for each image.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR ORAL PRESENTATION :RECORDING

  • Get your tablet
  • Record your video in a quiet place.
  • Greet your audience.
  • Use your poster as a visual guide while explaining each part of your day.
  • Introduce yourself: Name , age, likes and dislikes..
  • Use your body language to convey meaning.
  • Use the transition sentence: This is the routine when you stay in my house...
  • Present your daily routine including subjects, frequency adverbs , action words, times...
  • Use the ending sentence; I am looking forward to having you here!
  • Say good bye,
  • Stop the recording  and save the file.

GRADING YOUR ORAL PRESENTATION

Presentation and format 10% :

Clear video format, good lighting and sound, student identification (name, grade) at the start

Structure 10% : 

Logical sequence of daily actions, organized into beginning, middle, and end

Language accuracy 20% :

Correct use of present simple, pronunciation, word order, and grammar

Content and vocabulary 50%

Minimum 8 different actions, use of time expressions and connectors, clear explanation

Creativity and communication 10%

Use of drawings, materials, enthusiasm, fluency and personal expression
